Why you’ll love this product?
Why you’ll love this product?
Aritha – also known as reetha or soapnut – is a traditional plant used for its mild, soap-like feel when mixed with water. Spierb Aritha Powder brings that idea into a practical format for Canada: a plant based aritha powder that lives in your cupboard and turns into a light, foaming cleanse whenever you need it.
As an aritha powder for hair, it fits nicely into wash day as a gentle pre-wash or low-foam cleanse. When you whisk the powder with warm water, it releases a soft lather. Applied to the scalp and lengths, it helps lift everyday build-up so hair feels fresh and ready for your usual conditioner and styling products. It’s especially handy if you like to keep your routine lighter in summer or want to reset your hair after heavy products.
For skin, this aritha powder for skin can be used in short-contact face and body masks. Mixed into a soft paste, it becomes part of a calm evening routine: a quick massage, a light foam, and a rinse that leaves skin feeling freshly cleansed and comfortable.
Because this is a single-ingredient aritha powder, you decide how simple or detailed your recipes are. You can keep it very minimal – just Aritha and water – or mix it with other herbs. A classic combination is Aritha with Amla powder or Shikakai powder in a hair mask, or with Multani Mitti in a simple clarifying mask for face and body.
If you’re new to powdered herbs, the Spierb Learn Hub is there to help. You’ll find an Aritha ingredient guide, step-by-step “how to use” routines and a glossary entry for Aritha / Reetha so you can explore it safely and comfortably in your own cosmetic routine.
How to use
How to use
Always start with a patch test. See “Good to know” for a simple method.
For gentle hair & scalp cleansing
This is a cosmetic cleansing powder and won’t behave exactly like a standard liquid shampoo. Start slowly and see how your hair responds.
- Add 2–4 tablespoons of Aritha Powder to a clean, non-metal bowl (more for long or thick hair).
- Pour in warm water gradually, whisking until you have a thin, smooth liquid with light foam.
- Use as a gentle cleanse by pouring or massaging the mixture onto wet hair and scalp, focusing on the roots.
- Massage gently for a few minutes, as you would with a low-foam shampoo.
- Rinse thoroughly with plenty of lukewarm water.
- Follow with your usual conditioner or hair mask.
Start with about once a week, then adjust depending on how your hair and scalp feel. If hair feels dry, reduce frequency or pair Aritha with more conditioning herbs such as Amla powder.
For hair mask / pre-wash treatment
- Place 2–3 tablespoons of Aritha Powder into a bowl.
- Add enough warm water to make a slightly thicker, creamy paste.
- Apply to damp hair and scalp, working through sections so everything is evenly covered.
- Leave on for around 10–20 minutes, making sure the paste doesn’t dry rock-hard.
- Rinse thoroughly, then follow with your normal shampoo and conditioner.
For face & body (short-contact use)
- Add 1 teaspoon of Aritha Powder to a bowl.
- Add enough water to create a soft, runny paste that spreads easily.
- Apply a very thin layer to damp skin, avoiding the eye and lip area.
- Gently massage for a moment to create a light foam, then leave on for no more than 3–5 minutes.
- Rinse well with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- Follow with your usual moisturiser or body lotion.
Use 1–2 times per week, and reduce frequency if your skin feels dry or tight.

FAQ's - Aritha (Reetha) Powder for Hair & Skin - CA Pack
What is Aritha Powder and how does it work in a hair routine?
Aritha, also called reetha or soapnut, is a plant that creates a mild, soapy feel when mixed with water. Spierb Aritha Powder is a single-ingredient aritha powder you can whisk into a light lather. Many people in Canada like using it as a gentle, low-foam cleanse or pre-wash step before their usual conditioner and styling products.
Can I use Aritha Powder on both hair and skin?
Yes. This cosmetic aritha powder for hair and skin can be used on hair, scalp, face and body. On hair and scalp, it works as a low-foam cleanse or pre-wash mask; on skin, it’s used as a short-contact, rinse-off mask. You can adjust the thickness and contact time to suit your routine and climate.
Is this a pure, single-ingredient Aritha Powder?
Spierb Aritha Powder is a pure aritha powder made from aritha (soapnut) fruit, with no added colours or fragrance from our side. It’s a single-ingredient cosmetic powder that’s easy to blend with other herbs if you enjoy creating your own mixes.
Can I mix Aritha Powder with Amla or Shikakai?
You can. A popular approach is to use “Aritha + Amla + Shikakai powder” in a hair mask or cleansing routine. You might choose more Aritha on days you want extra cleansing, or more Amla on days you want a softer, pampering mask. Introduce any new blends gradually, and keep note of what your hair and scalp respond well to.
How often can I use Aritha Powder in my weekly routine?
Most people are comfortable using aritha powder for hair about once a week as a gentle cleanse or pre-wash, and once or twice a week as a short-contact face or body mask. Because this is a single-ingredient cosmetic powder, you can build it into your schedule at your own pace. For ideas, recipes and routine suggestions, you’ll find detailed guides in the Aritha section of the Spierb Learn Hub.
