Yes, Spierb Henna is excellent for covering grey hair. On white or grey strands, pure henna typically results in a vibrant reddish-orange or copper highlight. For darker coverage (brown or black) on greys, we recommend following up with Indigo powder.

How do I apply henna for best results?

To ensure the best henna for hair results, apply the paste to clean, product-free hair. Ensure the paste is smooth (not too runny) and apply thickly - henna needs to remain moist on the hair to transfer dye effectively. Wrap your head in plastic to prevent the paste from drying out while you wait.

How long does henna hair dye last?

Henna is a permanent to semi-permanent dye. It binds to the keratin in your hair and does not fade as quickly as chemical dyes. The colour will remain vibrant for 4–6 weeks and will gradually fade naturally, without leaving harsh demarcation lines.

How to avoid orange hair with henna at home?

Pure henna naturally produces red/orange tones. To avoid a bright orange look, you can mix the henna with Spierb Amla powder to tone down the red, or follow up with Spierb Indigo powder to turn the colour brown or black. Time also helps; the bright orange colour usually oxidises to a deeper red-brown within 48 hours of rinsing.
